A continental bathroom, also known as a “split bath” in the USA and Canada, is a bathroom with two doors. It may be between two bedrooms or between the hall and the master bedroom.
It is basically a space-saving technique, which means that you can build a communal bathroom for two bedrooms instead of two separate ones. It has two sinks but one toilet and tub.
This way, two people can use the facilities at once. The tub/shower and toilet are separated from the sink by a wall or partial wall.
This means that you can easily brush your teeth and apply your makeup at the sink while your husband showers or uses the toilet.
Continental bathrooms are a great way to save up space and money. Suppose you have a small home and plan to design or remodel it.
In that case, you should consider having continental bathrooms made for almost no incremental costs.
Continental bathrooms are in demand nowadays not because it’s a way of saving space but also due to new modern and fancy designs present in the market.
It is also time-saving since you won’t be waiting too long at the door for your partner or friend to leave it for you due to separate units.
It is like you get two bathrooms with no additional charges. You just have to pay the cost of a single bathroom.
